The Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is a standardized basic skills assessment that will assign a scale score for reading, math, and language for potential students. Scores are good for one year for Continuing Education admission. You cannot fail the TABE. It is used as a tool to help instructors make a learning plan that will work for a potential student. The TABE is the most widely used assessment in the adult education field. All Adult Basic Education students entering the Career and College Readiness program are required to take the TABE.
The TABE is available Monday-Thursday 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Academic Studies Center, located in the Kenneth B. Hurst Continuing Education Building, Room 200.
