In order for students to determine if they may be eligible to obtain financial aid to assist in their educational expenses, the deadlines listed are established by the federal government and require students to submit a FAFSA each year during the mandated time frames. Students can continue to apply for FAFSA after these dates. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA at any time during the academic year, but it is strongly encouraged to complete it as soon as possible and within the set forth time frames.

How to Apply
- Apply for Admissions The first step is applying for admission to Coastal. Please contact the Admissions Office at 910-938-6394 for the application procedure or go to the Admissions Office Monday - Thursday from 7:45 am to 7:30 pm or Friday 7:45 am to 5:00 pm.
- Apply for Your FSA ID If you’re a dependent student, a parent should also apply for a FSA ID so that they can electronically sign your FAFSA. Your FSA ID can be used to sign your FAFSA electronically, review and correct answers on your FAFSA, and reapply for student aid every year you are in school. Your FSA ID does not expire, so do not share it with anyone.
- Apply for Financial Aid To receive financial aid, a student must have a FAFSA on file with the United States Department of Education that demonstrates the student's financial need.
Please note: Financial Aid staff will contact you via your Coastal email in regards to your FAFSA, typically within 7-10 business days, following it's completion. The student must be fully admitted to an eligible degree, diploma, or certificate program of study (curriculum), not owe a refund on a grant or be in default of a student loan, have an earned Bachelor's degree, and must maintain satisfactory academic progress. Financial aid is not available for audited courses, credit by examination courses, or courses not in the student's designated curriculum, except required remedial courses not to exceed thirty (30) hours.
