New Student Experience
New Student Experience staff are excited to welcome you to college! They are here to provide assistance and resources as you begin your academic journey with us.
Orientation completion is required for all new students as well as for former Career and College Promise (CCP) students. We recommend that all students who are new to Coastal Carolina Community College sign up for a session!
Coastal Carolina Community College's New Student Experience offers Orientation sessions for curriculum students.
In-person and online self-paced sessions are offered Monday through Friday year-round when the College is open.
- In-person Orientation sessions last approximately 45 minutes to one hour. After the presentation, personalized assistance is available with an Academic Advisor/Counselor in order to discuss:
- Placement options
- Career planning
- Transfer planning
- Curriculum selection
- Your next steps in the Admission Process
- Online self-paced Orientation sessions are at your own pace. By the time of your appointment, you should receive an email that includes a link and a password. Once you receive the email, you can access the information at any time.
- Appointments are required for both in-person and online self-paced session options. To book your appointment, click the "Register for a New Student Orientation Session" tile, then select your experience from the drop-down menu on the next screen.

Coastal Carolina Community College's New Student Experience offers Orientation sessions for CCP students.
CCP Orientation completion is required for high school students participating in the CCP dual-enrollment program.
- In-person CCP Orientation sessions last approximately 45 minutes to one hour. Students will have a separate appointment with their college liaison for registration and next steps. That appointment can be prior to or after Orientation.
- Online Self-Paced CCP Orientation sessions are at your own pace. By the time of your appointment, you should receive an email to your College email address. Attached to the email will be the CCP Orientation information and the CCP Orientation handbook. Once you receive the email, you can access the information at any time.
- Appointments are required for both in-person and online self-paced session options. To book your appointment, click the "Register for a CCP Orientation" tile, then select your experience from the drop-down menu on the next screen.

Coastal Carolina Community College's New Student Experience offers Group Scheduling sessions for curriculum students. New students must complete an Orientation session prior to attending Group Scheduling. CCP students do not attend Group Scheduling.
- New students are required to complete Group Scheduling in-person or online in a self-paced environment to register for classes.
- In-person group scheduling presentations last approximately 30-45 minutes, and then you will be working on selecting and registering for your classes. Generally, you should be in a session no more than 2 hours. At the session, new students are shown how to:
- Understand their English and math placement
- Follow their curriculum
- Search for course sections
- Plan and register for classes online
- Online self-paced group scheduling sessions are at your own pace. By the time of your appointment, you should receive an email to your College email address. The email will include an attached PowerPoint and documents to help you complete your registration online. Once you receive the email, you can access the information at any time. You must register before classes begin.
- Students are encouraged to apply for federal student aid and/or Veterans Program Benefits payment options prior to registering for classes.
- Appointments are required for both in-person and online self-paced session options. To book your appointment, click the "Register for a Group Scheduling Session" tile, then select your experience from the drop-down menu on the next screen.
