Somatic Movement Classes

Somatic movement is an experience in moving meditation; it is a physical mindfulness practice centered on the internal, subjective experience of the body during guided movement with the aim of cultivating a mind-body connection. Participants will be guided through low impact standing and gentle seated movements intended to clear the mind and relax the body followed by a short sound bath for added relaxation and inner peace. This session is adaptive and suitable for physical capabilities or limitations. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and optional pillow if you would like to recline during final relaxation. Anna Maria Cancelli is a certified somatic movement and ecstatic dance facilitator who underwent Somatic Movement and Ecstatic Dance Facilitator training and completed a 7-week chakra series course with Heal Through Dance©. She brings a lifetime of dance training and over two decades of experience as a dance instructor to her sessions.
