The Admissions Office provides admissions assistance and academic advising at the main campus and aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River. Academic Counselors assist students with educational and occupational decisions, admissions, and advisement throughout their enrollment with the College. The intent is to provide assistance for continued student success. As an integral part of the students’ educational process, limited personal counseling services are available to assist students in achieving their educational goals.
All prospective students are required to meet with an Academic Counselor as the final step of the application process. Various options are available to meet this requirement for Distance Learning students (including email, telephone, and virtually by appointment). Distance Learning students should contact 910.938.6332 or admissions@coastalcarolina.edu for academic advising and counseling services, as well as to make an appointment to meet with an Academic Counselor.
During the counseling session, we will not only accept you to the College, but also help you choose a curriculum, determine your residency, and discuss registration options. Students are assigned a Faculty Advisor depending on their curriculum; if you are in an Associate in Applied Science, diploma, or certificate program, your Faculty Advisor will be assigned by the Department Head of your specific program. If you are in a College Transfer degree program, a Faculty Advisor may be assigned to you depending on the number of credits you have taken and your grade point average (GPA).
Academic Counselors are available Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am until 7:30 pm, and on Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. You don’t need an appointment – just come on in! The Admissions Office is located in the center of campus, in the Student Center Building.
